Island map.

In this tutorial I want to show you how to create an island, which you can use as geographical illustration.

Step 1.
Create a new 300X300 pixels document ("Island Map 1"). Set a dark red color (#e86a10) for a foreground and dark green color (#272f27) for a background. Apply Filter > Render > Clouds.

Step 2.
Apply Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen with the following settings: Amount -> 500%, Radius -> 61.3, Remove -> Gaussian Blur. Then apply Filter > Artistic > Poster Edges with the following settings: Edge Thickness -> 6, Edge Intensity -> 3, Posterization -> 1.

Step 3.
Now you can create a frame for our island map. Let's do it. Open a new 300X300 pixels document ("Island Map 2 "). Duplicate a background and delete an old one. Then choose Rectangular Marquee Tool and make a square selection. Then apply Edit > Fill and choose any dark colour. Apply Select > Deselect.

Step 4.
Apply Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter with the following settings: Spray Radiys -> 18, Smoothness -> 9. Use Magic Wand Tool . Apply Select > Inverse. Than again apply Select > Save Select as "A". Open our "Island Map 1" and apply Select > All. Then we carry "Island Map 1" to "Island Map 2 ". Apply Select > Load Selection of "A", and then press Delete.

Step 5.
Apply Filter > Texture > Texturizer with the following settings: Texture -> Sandstone, Scaling -> 96%, Relief -> 6, Light -> Top.

Step 6.
Apply Layer > Layer Style > Color Overlay with the following settings: Blend Mode -> Vivid Light with the white color, Opacity -> 43%. And that's it.
